Odoo Mentor - Accounting and Implementation Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Odoo Mentor with a strong background in both Accounting and Odoo to join our team. As an Odoo Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in training and guiding new and existing consultants to become exceptional Odoo consultants and project leaders. Your expertise in both Accounting principles and Odoo implementation will be essential in ensuring that our consultants are well-equipped to provide top-notch solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Training and Development:

    • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing consultants, focusing on Odoo implementation, customization, and best practices in Accounting integration.
    • Design training materials, presentations, workshops, and hands-on exercises to effectively convey complex concepts and skills.
  2. Mentorship and Guidance:

    • Provide one-on-one mentoring and guidance to consultants, offering insights into effective client communication, project management, and problem-solving techniques.
    • Assist consultants in understanding client requirements and translating them into effective Odoo solutions.
  3. Accounting and Odoo Expertise:

    • Possess a deep understanding of both Accounting principles and Odoo functionalities, including modules related to finance, inventory, sales, purchasing, and reporting.
    • Ensure that consultants are well-versed in configuring Odoo to seamlessly integrate with various accounting systems and workflows.
  4. Continuous Learning:

    • Stay updated with the latest developments in Odoo and Accounting practices to ensure the training curriculum remains relevant and up-to-date.
    • Incorporate new features, modules, and methodologies into training materials as needed.
  5. Assessment and Feedback:

    • Evaluate the progress of trainees through practical assignments, assessments, and simulations.
    • Provide constructive feedback to help consultants improve their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field. Master's degree or professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Odoo implementation, customization, and configuration, preferably in a consulting or project leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting principles, practices, and standards, with the ability to integrate them effectively within Odoo solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective knowledge transfer and mentorship.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing projects, with a track record of successful implementations and client satisfaction.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for teaching and guiding others.
  • Proficiency in creating training materials, presentations, and hands-on exercises.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies, tools, and methodologies as they emerge in the Odoo ecosystem.

About the company : Syncoria is a technology consulting firm that specializes in providing business management software solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. We work with a comprehensive ERP software called Odoo that provides a range of features and functionalities to help businesses streamline their operations and improve efficiency. We are currently Odoo’s preferred partner in Canada designated as Odoo Gold partner

About the Role : As an Odoo functional consultant, you MUST have an accounting background. You will participate in consulting engagements and assume responsibility for performing implementations and producing quality deliverables. You will be responsible for organizing and controlling tasks within the work plan and demonstrate the ability to lead project teams or small engagements. You must demonstrate the ability to work with the client on an independent basis for both short-term and long-term engagements with little supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Elicit and document business and user requirements via self-initiated interviews, diagrams, and workflow analysis
  • Synthesizes complex information into concise, readable, unambiguous process models and system requirements
  • Complete gap-fit analysis
  • Designing the chart of accounts
  • Document current and desired business processes
  • Ability to establish priorities as well as communicate effectively with other team members and customers
  • Create detailed plans for execution and implementation of new processes
  • Assist customer with data migration
  • Prepare and distribute regular status updates
  • Assist in the development of functional scenario-based test scripts; develop test data in support of User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Assist the development team to implement the solution whenever needed
  • Participate in knowledge transfer to the customer
  • Conduct training sessions and produce user documentation
  • Assist in the development of end-user training programs and deliver the training.

General Responsibilities:

  • Attain and maintain Odoo certification status
  • Periodically, when needed, be available 7x24 (especially during go-live events, physical inventory events, month-end closings, etc.)

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a CMA, CGA, CA or CPA designation or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in project management in Manufacturing/Distribution/Retail/Service industry
  • Prior experience working with ERP/CRM software is required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively on a team
